This site was initially launced in 1997, as part of my doctoral research on the social dynamics of Internet development in developing countries. Over the years, I have restructured and redesigned the site to reflect my ongoing activities and my general mood. Having now completed this particular research project, I have decided to give the site a new look and (partially) new content, as of October 2001.

The site is purposefully low-tech to allow for fast downloading. Having myself accessed the Internet from locations where bandwidth is limited, I have come to appreciate sites where content is more important than fancy images. Also, not being a graphic artist, I have refrained myself from playing around with graphic software. Who knows, I may change my mind in the future, but for now WYSIWYG.

The site is also under continuous construction. More content will be added with time, so if you are interested in Internet and globalization, make sure to revisit.

If you have any feedback, feel free to drop me an e-mail.
